Lauren Kinsella and Alex Huber originally met in Lucerne 2009 and soon realized they wanted to work together. Having recorded in Zurich under Dave Liebman at the IASJ Meeting, they later came together in Berlin 2010, to begin exploring new material within the freedom and limitations that present itself with duo free play. The first result is the recording “All this talk about”, inspired by the poems of Ted Hughes and the atmosphere of the recording studio at the old Funkhaus Berlin Nalepastrasse, in the Ex-Eastern part of Berlin. Since then, they have played in Paris with the Onze Heures Onze Collective, Berlin and this June sees their first London tour, which include collaborations with drummer Mark Sanders and electronic artist Will Edmondes, two stalwart artists on the London and UK free improv scene.
"The result is a fascinating journey on the border of vocal jazz and free improvisation." (Vittorio Albani, Allaboutjazz I)
„A beautiful, original and surprising release!“ (Jan Granile, Jazznytt NOR)
„It's impossible to remain indifferent to Kinsella and Huber's bold musical dialogue. A leap of faith may be required for the less curious, but for those who seek innovation and courage in music making, the rewards are there in abundance.“ (Ian Patterson, Allaboutjazz.com)
